Discontinuing treatment of Orlistat should occur if you have not lost more than 5% of your original body weight by the 12th week of starting this medication.
Treatment should also be postponed if your body weight increases in the first 3 months, or if your body weight falls below a BMI of 30 or 28 if you have health problems related to obesity such as high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol.
Unfortunately, like some diets, some people do not succeed in losing weight with Orlistat. If this happens to you the following options are available:
- Have a 6 month break from orlistat and then try again
